The OKK VM53R’s feed axes utilize highly rigid and accurate box-ways like conventional machines, enabling better machining of not only general parts, but also machining parts made of difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium. The main body design delivers heavy and accurate CNC machining in an ergonomic and user-friendly design.

Column Base
With the base of its column changed to a taper shape to make the base 30% wider, and with parts of its main unit made into a high-rigidity, box-type structure to allocate diagonal ribs (of a triangle rib structure) properly, this model is rigid and excellent in absorbing vibration. Thanks to synergies with the sturdy triangular guide on each sliding surface, this model boasts smooth cutting performance and high-quality finished surfaces.

Spindle
With the adoption of Nidec OKK’s reputable and unique cam-type and high-speed synchronous tool exchanger (patented by Nidec OKK), this model boasts stable tool exchange and excellent durability. With a double-side contact spindle installed as standard, VM53RII can handle tools of up to 380mm in length. With a cooling oil circulation circuit in place for the head of its gear spindle’s front section, this model can suppress temperature rise by 14%.

Table
This model boasts an improved accessibility, with the distance from the cover’s front section to the spindle 770mm, and 920mm to the table. With the door that opens all the way to its ceiling section and without the top section’s door rail that was with conventional models, VM53RII is easier to operate than them.
